&lt;div&gt;Characters may get diseases. All diseases have the following characteristics:&lt;br /&gt;

=Diseases in ME=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In Medieval Europe, it's possible to catch diseases. Currently, four diseases can be caught:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Plague&lt;br /&gt;
* Bleeding Wound&lt;br /&gt;
* Tipsiness&lt;br /&gt;
* Drunkenness&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=How can  a character get a disease?=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A character may get a disease for a game mechanic, or from another character.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=How can a character be cured from a disease?=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Only a member of a Church can cure a disease, provide that the Church owns the correct Dogma Bonuses. The diseases curable by a Member of a Church are Plague, Bleeding Wound.&lt;br /&gt;
Alternatively, a player can buy an [[Elixir of Cure Disease]], a premium bonus item purchased with doubloons.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=What happens to a character that is infected with a disease?=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Every disease, after some time and until is not cured:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Applies effects to a character (for example, some Health Points are taken off);&lt;br /&gt;
* If it's infective, tries to infect other characters.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Some disease effects cannot apply in some circumstances:&lt;br /&gt;

Flu's a mild, permanent disease and will hit people that are naked on torso/body or legs, by rolling a 100 faced dice. &lt;br /&gt;
The percentage to be infected is 20%. When a character has got the flu, this symbol will appear on his public profile: [[File:Flu.png]]&lt;br /&gt;

The first stage of side effects alcoholic drinks have on a character. If a character is tipsy, this symbol appears on his public profile: [[File:Tipsiness.png]]&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If a character's [[Food|intoxication level]] is increased to 50, Tipsiness kicks in. The intoxication level will automatically decrease by 3 every 30 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The effect ends when the character's IL drops below 50.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
   This disease cannot be cured by a Church Member.&lt;br /&gt;

If a character's [[Food|intoxication level]] is increased to 100, Drunkenness kicks in and the character collapses and needs to sober up for 6 hours, in which no other action can be performed.&lt;br /&gt;

This timeout cannot be canceled. The intoxication level will also automatically decrease by 3 every 30 minutes during that time.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
   This disease cannot be cured by a Church Member.&lt;br /&gt;
